Under the direct direction of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Uttarakhand government has launched an emergency health response in reaction to the deadly cloudburst that hit Dharali village in Uttarkashi district on Tuesday.
To guarantee that the victims receive aid as soon as possible, the Chief Minister keeps a close eye on the relief activities and communicates with senior officials frequently.
In accordance with his directives, Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar has assembled a group of medical specialists, including orthopaedic surgeons, surgeons, anesthetists, and physicians, for the impacted region.
As the authorized nodal official for medical relief activities, the director of the Garhwal Division Health Services is leading the team. All of the state’s major hospitals have been instructed to set aside beds for the injured in anticipation of possible mass casualties.
To ensure complete preparedness, all medical officials and employees have also been prohibited from taking time off until further notice. Additionally, hospitals have been directed to guarantee the continuous supply of medications, surgical materials, and medical equipment.
In Dharali and the neighboring areas, the state-run 108 ambulance service has been put on high alert. In order to bolster the emergency response and guarantee prompt evacuation and primary care of patients, ambulances from neighboring districts have also been sent in. In Uttarkashi, a 24-hour emergency control room has been established to manage rescue and medical efforts.
Throughout the ongoing relief activities, the control room will act as the main gathering place for discussions and problem solving.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar issued a warning that severe administrative action will result from any carelessness in carrying out tasks. “This is a humanitarian crisis that demands utmost sensitivity and dedication from every health official and worker,” he stated.
211 personnel and necessary equipment were quickly sent for rescue operations by the Army, ITBP, and NDRF teams.
Additionally, authorities warned residents in low-lying areas to evacuate. As efforts to return things to normal continue, district officials and SDRF staff are keeping a close eye on the situation.
To coordinate relief efforts, the Uttarakhand government has also sent IAS officers Gaurav Kumar, Meghraj Singh Bisht, and Abhishek Ruhela.
Teams from the SDRF and the PAC’s 40th Battalion have also been hurried from Haridwar and Dehradun to assist with rescue efforts.
160 men, including 10 senior police officials from Haridwar, Dehradun, Pauri, and Tehri, have been deployed to provide ground support.
Teams have been told to bring medical supplies, tents, and necessities. Senior civil and police officials have directed that swift action be taken.
