Namo Yuva Run would mobilize more than 10 lakh youth across 75 cities

The ‘Namo Yuva Run‘ is scheduled for Sunday all throughout the country, with over 10 lakh young people anticipated to run at the same time.

The massive event will take place in 75 different sites around the country.

On September 7, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) said that the national objective of this extensive project will be social awareness and fitness.

This program is a component of the festivities that the BJP arranged to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17.

BJYM President and MP Tejasvi Surya stated during a news conference held at the BJP headquarters that the run is being held under the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India).

“India has successfully fought narcotics for the past ten years under the direction of Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In addition to promoting physical fitness, this race aims to protect our young people from the dangers of addiction, which impair people and jeopardize national security,” he stated.

Surya emphasized that it will be the greatest participatory run in the nation, with 10,000 to 15,000 participants expected at each venue.

The campaign will also include actor and fitness star Milind Soman, who has been appointed as the event’s brand ambassador.

“I’ve admired Milind Soman since high school. He is still the fittest Indian alive today and serves as an inspiration to the country’s youth. However, the greatest source of encouragement for young people is Prime Minister Modi himself, Surya said.

The leader of the BJYM connected the drug problem to broader security issues like financing of narco-terrorism, cross-border smuggling, and narco-terrorism.

He noted that India has greatly increased its enforcement in the last ten years, seized over 24 lakh kg of drugs between 2014 and 2024, as opposed to just 3.6 lakh kg in the decade prior.

“In the last year alone, 10 lakh kg of drugs have been seized and destroyed,” he stated.

On Sunday, the ‘Namo Yuva Run‘ will begin, uniting thousands of young Indians in a coordinated national appeal for discipline, physical health, and a drug-free future.
