On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 18,300 crore in the national capital and open two new Delhi Metro routes.
The Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, will inaugurate two new Delhi Metro corridors: Majlis Park to Maujpur-Babarpur (Pink Line) and Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park (Magenta Line). The foundation stone for three new corridors under Delhi Metro Phase-V (A) will also be laid.
CM Gupta stated that the overall cost of these metro projects is over Rs 18,300 crore and that they are anticipated to improve Delhi’s public transit system even more.
While sharing specific details about the Metro projects, the Chief Minister stated that these initiatives will be crucial in turning the national capital into a genuinely ‘Viksit Delhi’.
The extension of the Metro network will enhance public transportation, make citizens’ everyday commute simpler, lower the number of cars on the streets, and aid in pollution regulation.
The event will take place at DDA Utsav Sthal-3, in front of Nirankari Mandal.
According to the Chief Minister, the Metro route between Majlis Park and Maujpur-Babarpur is 12. 3 km long and has eight elevated stations.
This corridor is a portion of the Majlis Park–Shiv Vihar Pink Line, which is currently in use.
With the addition of this Metro segment, the Pink Line will now run for a total of about 71. 56 km, making Delhi the location of the first Ring Metro in the nation that is fully operational, according to Chief Minister Gupta.
The Prime Minister will lay the cornerstone for three new corridors under Delhi Metro Phase V (A), which will improve travel for residents of the national capital, according to the Chief Minister.
The Central Vista Corridor, which runs from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, the Golden Line extension, which runs from Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1, and the Golden Line extension, which runs from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj, are all included.
The Central Vista Corridor will be built underground and will stretch 9. 913 kilometers from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha. It will have nine new Metro stations: R. K. Ashram Marg (under construction), Shivaji Stadium, Yuge-Yugeen Bharat, Central Secretariat, Kartavya Bhavan, India Gate, War Memorial-High Court, Baroda House, Bharat Mandapam, and Indraprastha.
This corridor will link the metro to key sites like the Yuge-Yugeen Bharat Museum, the Bharat Mandapam, and the Kartavya Bhavans.
2. 263 kilometers of the Golden Line will be built underground, extending from Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1. One additional station will be added, and two existing stations will be connected.
The Golden Line expansion between Tughlakabad and Kalindi Kunj will be an elevated route spanning 3. 9 kilometers. The route’s stations will include Sarita Vihar Depot, Madanpur Khadar, and Kalindi Kunj.
These projects will also help cities all over the National Capital Region (NCR), the Chief Minister said.
The Violet Line will allow residents of Faridabad and Ballabhgarh to get to Tughlakabad, from where they will be able to take the Golden Line directly to Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1.
Additionally, passengers from Noida will be able to take the Magenta Line to Kalindi Kunj and then the Golden Line to the airport and other locations in South Delhi with ease.
